In comparison, our full backup to the same RAID1 local storage takes about 2.5 hours to transfer approx 1TB. First, its ungodly slow So far its processed 14GB in 2 hours. I downloaded the demo of the Starwind VTL, but there are a few problems we have encountered. Unfortunately that's the only feature we need as compared to the higher editions of Veeam. Currently using a portable HDD rotation Backup Copy Job, but would like to extend this to an occasional cloud backup as well. We have been using Veeam Standard Edition for years, and have generally been happy with it except for the fact that its insanely crippled with regard to any cloud backup. To add to this - what would happen if ransomware hit the network and somehow was able to encrypt the local veeam backups, wouldn't tiger bridge just sync the encrypted files over the non-ransomware files on B2?įYI the repo has about 6TB of data, with 14 days of restore points.īumping an old thread because we are looking at solutions with the exact same goal (easy ransomware protection via hopefully never used cloud backup copy). Just trying to offload the local veeam backups to a cloud provide in-case ransomeware hits the local veeam box or the building burns down, hopefully would never have to restore the data. I know there is an option of using starwinds VTL > B2 seems a bit more complex. Im wondering if anyone is using Veeam Community edition to store backups in backblaze b2?īackblaze has an article here that goes over the configuration, but veeam seems to say its not supported?ĭoes tigerbridge just sync whatever files are stored in the local repository with B2? How is it able to handle synthetic backups?
